A private performance is the form the Native American flute does best — close enough that guests can hear the breath behind the note, atmospheric enough to set the tone of an entire evening. From a dozen friends around a fire to a few hundred guests at a retreat opening, the flute meets the room.
The kinds of events I play
- Intimate gatherings — birthdays, anniversaries, dinner parties, small home concerts, sound baths. Often unamplified, often acoustic.
- Evening engagements — extended performances at resorts, restaurants, wineries, gallery openings, and community events.
- Retreats & wellness events — opening or closing ceremonies, between-session music, meditation underscore, and live music for yoga or breathwork.
- Corporate and brand events — atmospheric music for product launches, donor dinners, and gatherings where the music should set a tone, not become the headline.
What an evening feels like
The format adapts to the event. A typical evening engagement runs 60 to 90 minutes of music, performed as one continuous flow or split into sets to match the rhythm of the gathering. I move between several flutes during a performance — Native American flutes in different keys, plus bansuri, bamboo suling, drone flutes, and clay flutes — letting the texture shift as the room shifts.
For intimate gatherings of fewer than 30 guests, the music is usually acoustic. For larger rooms or outdoor venues, I bring a simple amplification setup or coordinate with your venue's existing PA.

Frequently asked
How loud is a Native American flute?
Softer than most instruments — which is precisely why it works for private events. It fills a room without overpowering conversation, then quiets it when guests want to listen. Most intimate gatherings need no amplification at all.
Can you play during dinner or during conversation?
Yes. The flute is well suited as background music — it never pushes itself forward, but listeners who choose to focus on it find depth there. Many hosts ask for a quieter background set during dinner and a more attention-forward set after.
Will you collaborate with other musicians?
Often, yes. I've performed with vocalists, guitarists, hand-pan players, and percussion. If you have a collaborator in mind or want a recommendation, mention it when you reach out.
Do you play for outdoor events?
Frequently. Many of my favourite performances have been on rice terraces, in canyons, by water. Outdoor settings work beautifully — I just need a shaded spot for the flutes if it's a long performance in direct sun.
How far in advance should we book?
For weekend events in peak season, four to eight weeks ahead is comfortable. Shorter notice is often possible — please reach out and I'll let you know.
